WIWS - A Blessed Candlemas to you!
I haven't done this link-up in a while, which is sad, because I really love most of my winter wardrobe, most especially because of tights and stockings so you can't see how horribly blotchy and gross my legs (and knees! Oh my gosh!) are all year round. Seriously, I have no idea how people tan their legs evenly in the summer - I'm lucky if the tops of my feet get lines from my sandals.
BUT anyway, since I know you all wanted to talk about my knees, see below some pics of me by my lonesome, as little lady was snoozing when we got home from mass.
We went to a beautiful Solemn High mass for the feast of the Purification of Our Lady and Presentation of Our Lord today (Candlemas); the hubby and I accompanied the choir, and there was a procession and multiple lightings of beeswax candles, and loads of incense, and, well, all the smells and bells of a beautiful liturgy. As a result, however, Annie basically missed her morning nap, so I'm praying she stays passed out for another hour, at least.
Shirt: LOFT, old
Sweater: Talbots
Skirt: Banana Republic, thrifted (with pockets!)
Shoes: Anne Klein
Hat: some vintage shop, years ago
Scarf: Ann Taylor, Christmas gift :)
Legs: even-toned thanks to stockings
It's actually been mild today, for a change. It feels more like the past several winters in VA, when it would snow and then warm up into the 60s two days later and melt it all away. The sub-freezing temps of the past 2 weeks have actually preserved some of the snow and "winteriness" that we usually don't get around here for all that long.
And, since I need to update you with some cute baby pics, I've pulled a few from the past couple of weeks.
Mid-crawl to come steal the cool black thing that Mommy's holding.
About to cry? Maybe sneeze? A funny face, anyway.
She has round 2 of a cold, so excuse the runny mouth and nose, but check out her teeth!
What a cutie your little one is! Love that face!! Pretty outfit today - the hat is really neat!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! And yep, we think she's a keeper - good thing she's cute, too, when this cranky cold season is in full swing ;) And I like wearing hats, when I can find ones that fit my big square head. I need to look for some dressy winter ones though - maybe one of those Cloche/bucket-type wool ones...
DeleteYour baby is adorable!! You look great...I love your hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amelia! I was a bit rushed in trying to do something with wet hair that would be hat compatible, but this was pretty easy, so I might have to try it again!
DeleteYour outfit and hair are just lovely! And that settles it - the next time I go shopping I'm begging you to come with me ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks! Well, really, you should ask Christine to go with you, as she's my style icon ;) I'm always up for a good shopping trip, and my guess is that she'd love to come too - she would love to have a job as a personal stylist, and I'm always asking her opinion on outfits. Case in point: she gave me this scarf, and somehow we managed to wear coordinating colors today (cream and navy/silver) - it starts to rub off ;)
DeleteI was just going to say that I think you and Hannah should be shopping buddies!!! You always look so fabulous and classy and timeless :) I love how you connected the color of the skirt & the scarf, and I LOVE Annie's pink sweater dress!
ReplyDeleteHey, as I said, I'm always game for a shopping trip, I just always have to be careful not to try to dress people in what I would pick for myself, but what looks best for THEIR tastes and body type. Harder than you'd think, haha. And thanks, I'm always wishing I could pull off the cute petite styles that you wear, and you mix and match your wardrobe so well! And Annie's sweater dress is one of my current favorite items in her wardrobe - I'll be so sad when she grows out of it! As is, the tag says it's a size 3 MONTHS?!? That must be some large 3 month old, or they'd be swimming in it. Milking it for all it's worth!
