Guess Who Arrived?!?!

After all my hemming and hawing about how I really didn't want to go much past my due date (9/15), we were overjoyed to welcome Hugh Patrick Collins on September 16!

It's something of a drawn out story in detail, which will have to wait for another day, but here is a massive photo dump for those who are interested in such things :)

He was born at home (on purpose :) just over 12 hours after my water broke, but after really only about 2.5 hours of active labor. It was so great to be at home, for so many reasons, including that Annie slept through the most intense part and woke up to a new baby! Couldn't have planned that if I tried.

As Rosie's Cecilia said, "Why is baby Hugh all soapy?" #vernix

Not at ALL excited about having a son ;)

Proud grandma

My amazing midwife Tierney who made all my prenatal care and his birth such a great experience. Thank you!

Wake up from a nap, surprise! New baby brother!

About to give kisses

A visit from his godfather

With his uncle Daniel

Auntie Christine

Check out that dimple!

First bath

Annie's been pretty good about being "gentle" with him - she's mostly fascinated by this moving doll ;)

"Belly". This was right before I pointed out his ear, and she tried to grab his face to turn his head to see the other one. We may need to get this kid a suit of armor.

So, end of *this* photo dump - if you made it through you must by family or friends, or just enamored of Hugh's fuzzy hair. We're all doing well, and I'll eventually get around to writing his birth story!
