So every time I've thought of writing a post over the past 2 months I've just been... overwhelmed and demotivated. Overwhelmed, because it's been a great summer full of wonderful things, and demotivated because my computer has been uncooperative with uploading and storage of pictures. And I didn't want to deal with it. Which is a lame excuse. But let's face it, most of you are here for the pictures ;)
So, finally, I got on the hubby's laptop, uploaded a random selection from the past 2 months, and well, here is a taste of our summer thus far:
| Perhaps a favorite preggo WIWS: 24 weeks? Maybe? I forget... I think it was in June. |
| "Hat" is a favorite word, and she LOVES when Michael and I both wear ours. |
| We went to visit my moms side of the family in New Orleans for a few days, and were thrilled that my grandparents got to spend some time with Annie at this stage (95 and 92! Still going *relatively* strong :) |
| She's mastered the skeptical look. |
| I snapped this of their wedding portrait: 72 years ago! |
| 4 generations (with my aunt, the best hostess, in the blue) |
| Page-turning ninja |
And what was she reading?
| Aristotle. NBD. Can you tell we were liberal arts majors? |
| First watermelon! Nom nom nom |
| 4th of July - she yanked these off the table after our BBQ and started walking around with them trailing from her neck. |
| Classic Saturday morning. PJs, and Daddy's home so she can play with his keys :) |
| Fun in the kiddie pool with friends! |
| She was loathe to return this phone when its own left our house - anything with buttons. Calculators, remotes, phones. If it makes noise, even better. Probably because we don't have that many noise-making toys around. |
| Her cousin seemed to master the wheelbarrow... |
| Until she decided to do this... |
| ...and then this was the obvious course of action. |
Ninja baby! Annie's "cousin-in-law"
Some people get the token shot of their kid eating spaghetti and making a mess.
Pssh.
We roll with blueberry pancakes :)
| Such a goof. |
| Notice: blueberries may have been harmed in the eating of this pancake. |
| Backyard visitors. Thanks for the ticks. Keep your Lyme's disease. |
Both Annie and I have had 1 tick this summer, but luckily nothing resulted from them. This area is really bad this year, and it petrifies me.
Peach picking with cousins! We did this
last year too, so here are some comparison pictures.
| New addition to the cousin clan, soon to be joined by our little bean! |
| Annie was super-tired and ready for a nap. Hence Madame Grouchy Face. |
And that's all for now - hopefully I'll be better about posting in coming weeks, although we're only 5 weeks out from D-day! :) Lots of organizing and weeding out prep happening these days.
What has your summer been like?
