WIWS: A Touch of Patent Leather

I've been on something of a blogging hiatus for multiple reasons, not the least of which have been a teething, fussy baby, lesson planning for the class I'm teaching this fall, family visiting, etc. Anyway, getting back on the gravy train with a quick WIWS post along with everyone else over at FL&P.

Horrible posture brought to you by ... I haven't worn heels for this long in a while.
Shirt: Talbot's, you've seen it before; Skirt: Goodwill; Shoes: also Talbot's; Belt: The Limited

I wish I had these shoes while I was in college, because a few friends instituted "Primary color shoe day" on...Mondays? I think it was. I had red shoes, so I usually just wore those, but it would have been fun to vary it up with these. They started the day because one of the guys spray-painted a pair of suede shoes blue (get it?) for a dance, I believe.

I don't have a shot of Annie this week, as she was sleeping in her car seat during this photo shoot, and then she was fussy, hot and sweaty when she woke up, so the Sunday duds came off ASAP.

Speaking of car seats, does anyone have a suggestion for a good transitional seat (rear AND forward facing compatible) that fits well into small back seats? My hubby has a Civic, so space is limited back there, and since Annie will be 6 mo. in another week (!!! where did time go?), we're starting to think ahead to the next seat she will need. I saw this one recommended as good for smaller vehicles, but I think I'll need to go see it in store first.

Here are a few more recent shots from this past week:

Post-bath: her new favorite thing is to suck on her bottom lip. Also, jury's still out on what her eye color will be, but while I'm thinking she's definitely leaning toward brown, I kind of hope some of the grey-ish green sticks around and she ends up hazel :) And don't those eyebrows look a little reddish to you? Is it true that eyebrow color often indicates ultimate hair color?

Michael came home with these gladiolas after a particularly rough night of baby fussiness. He's pretty amazing like that.

  1. I *think* they work in small cars, but I REALLY wish we had gotten Radians right off the bat. They're the slimmest convertible seat and people have no problem fitting 3 across the back. I thought, "Oh yeah, no need to go small because we'll have to get a minivan soon anyway!" And then, BAM! Twins come along and the minivan space is maxed out because of massive car seats...
