WIWS and Baby Smiles!
My sister-in-law and I went shopping last week, and were pleasantly surprised to find that H&M's clothing offerings are currently back in our line of taste. They went through a stage there with too much teeny-bopper/punk/neon/just plain old ugly or weird stuff. Now they have lace and ruffles and muted tones and pintucks and feminine details! What European fashion shows do I have to thank for this upward trend?
We found this super-cute jacket and while I'd never have bought it at full price for myself, it was one of only 2 left in the store, and my sister insisted on buying it for me as an early birthday present - so generous! So I just had to wear it this Sunday :)
Love the tucks and feminine tailoring - SO essential in a good jacket.
I paired it with a full skirt and a blouse with a ruffled collar, to balance out the clean lines.
Shirt: Talbots sale; Skirt: Ummm...some random shop in town several years ago; Shoes: Anne Klein iflex (SO comfy); Necklace: flea market find and baby-tugging-friendly :)
Annie wore a cute little gingham dress found on Zulily earlier this spring - it finally fits!
And since Daddy is always our trusty photographer but is rarely in our Sunday pics, here are some of my favorites I snapped today:
Post-nap snuggles and sleepy face.
Well on her way to wanting "puffed sleeves" like Anne of Green Gables.
Annie gets and A- for mass behavior, because I had to nurse her when we arrived, and while she was then quiet in my arms until after the consecration, I passed her off to Michael before communion and she started getting "chatty" (read: not crying, just making her voice heard), only it doesn't build to a crescendo anymore, it's just loud from the get-go. So, he kept getting up and down with her, taking her to the back, bouncing her, she'd quiet down, he'd come back to the pew, repeat. *Sigh* And I think teething is getting closer, as she's chewing on nearly every piece of fabric she gets her hands on (I've offered her all kinds of teething things, we even have a Sophie the Giraffe, but she keeps dropping it, while she has a death-grip on pieces of fabric). Maybe I'll try the old frozen damp washcloth teether trick.
We came home to spend a nice leisurely hour until Michael went to his weekly ultimate Frisbee game, eating munchies and reading.
It was rah-tha nice, I say, ol' chap. Peaches. Dubliner cheese. Homemade lemonade. Ritz crackers. Children's literature. Amen.
Go visit the ladies of Fine Linen & Purple and show some love!
Ok I missed this somehow. You look AMAZING and I LOVE that jacket!!! Where is this H&M you speak of? An that snack looks fabulous
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias! There's one in the Fair Oaks mall (a little over an hour East) - some of the stores there are swankified, but I can handle places like H&M :)
